Starting on Monday, March 30th, 2020 I will be offering free weekly meditation sessions (online) to support people during the daily rollercoaster of Coronavirus. Please feel free to share this email with anyone who might be interested in joining and could use this type of support at this time. Since we will be meeting on an online platform, you don’t have to live in the Twickenham area in order to participate.
Finding ground in a changing world:
The surreal times that we are living through require an indispensable set of skills: patience, non judgement, acceptance, and the ability to soothe and ground our system in the face of anxiety and fear. This online meditation group has been set up with the aim of building resilience and cultivating these skills.
In each session I will be leading the group in a guided meditation, followed by an opportunity to share, give feedback and ask questions. The last twenty minutes of the session will include some teaching on a particular theme such as ‘learning how to anchor your attention in the body’ or ‘leaning toward gratitude.’ Each session will stand alone so you can come to one or all.
You must download Zoom in order to participate in these sessions. On the day of the session you can click on the link below and it will immediately download the software onto your computer. This will most likely take 5-10 minutes. If you’d like to download the software ahead of the session, you can go to this link to do that: https://www.zoom.us/download#client_4meeting Zoom is a free video-conferencing software that allows large groups of people to participate in a chat room.
On the day of the session you can use the links below to get to the meeting. There is no obligation to tell me you will be attending but that might be useful so I can get an idea of numbers. Please do not click on the link until 10 minutes before the meeting is set to begin… no one will be in the chat room waiting for you : )
You will need a password to enter the chat. They are listed below. After you enter the password you will be put in a waiting room and I will admit you. Please try to arrive in good time as I will not be able to admit you once I’ve started guiding the meditation.
I will be offering two sessions every Monday… one at 10:00am and one at 7:30pm. The meditations will be live so will obviously be slightly different but the teaching content will be the same. At present I haven’t set an end date for these sessions… I’m interested in seeing if this sort of support is needed and desired in the community and am committed to offering what I can.
